Rachel Bailit is an Actress, and Acting Teacher at The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute,
The Getty Museum, and DreamWorks Animation. She specializes in working one on one with
public speakers, elected officials , lawyers , museum docents, animators and veterans creating
opportunities for genuine communication, effective change, and growth.
The basis of her work Method Acting using Sense Memory and Emotional Memory.

Rachel is the Museum Educational Consultant for Affective and Physical Engagement with Art at
The Getty Museum. In addition to training museum docents, she co-created a new tour “Sense Memory
in Art” at The Getty Center. Rachel interacts with museum visitors from all over the world to explore
the way memory and the senses engage simultaneously to create deeper, more provocative, and personal
relationships with works of art.
“Acting for Animators” is a specialized class Rachel has created for industry professionals. Using a technique
she created “Method Boarding”, She works with Storyboard Artists teaching them how to integrate personal sensorial and acting choices into unique storytelling. Most recently Rachel taught an ongoing workshop at Warner Animation Group, Dreamworks Animation,The Gnomon School of Visual Effects, Gaming and Animation, The Animation Guild and The Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art.
Rachel owned and operated her own casting company “Compassionate Casting”. She cast television films, music videos and commercials.

Rachel’s film and television acting credits include Paramount’s “Festival In Cannes” directed by Henry Jaglom. She played alongside Jim Carrey in Ron Howard’s “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas”. She has appeared in many television shows including The Conan O’Brien Show”, “Desperate Housewives”, “Jon Benjamin Has a Van”, Tim and Eric’s Awesome Show”, “NYPD Blue” and the role of “Marissa” in “General Hospital”. Rachel stars in the websiode "The Vamps Next Door". She most recently starred in a three new films, “Stay Sane” (Winner 49 Film festivalAwards), "The Shade” (Winner of 12 film festival awards) and “Marzipan”, opening in 2021.

Rachel's stage experience includes a five year run of a one-woman show “Sugar Happens” in Los Angeles and Off-Broadway. It was directed and produced by David Lee Strasberg, and a later version directed by Phil Ramuno. Emmy winning writer Sherry Coben based the dramedy on Rachel’s life. She performed and filmed the show twice at The Comedy Central Stage at The Hudson Theater.
Recently, Rachel performed in the premiere production of “In The Mood”, written by Stephen Fife
at The Ark Theater in Burbank. She played the role of Janette in “My Dinner with Trixie.
"The play was directed by Dawn Simmons and written by Janice Pryor. It was performed at the
Cambridge Multi-Cultural Center.
Rachel starred in the premiere of William Threadgold’s play “Men, Women, Doppler Radar”
at The Promenade Playhouse in Santa Monica. She did a staged reading of Drew Katzman’s
new play “Where’s Andy” in New York and in LA at Theater West.

Rachel wrote a newspaper column for The Los Angeles Independent titled “Diary of an Actress”. She later turned the column into a blog and YouTube series.
A member of The Classical Theater Lab in Los Angeles, Rachel appeared in the following productions:
Thomas Heywood’s “A Woman Killed Kindness”, William Shakespeare’s “Henry IV”, and Oscar Wilde’s
“A Woman of No Importance”.
In addition, Rachel played “Mistress Ford” in William Shakespeare’s “The Merry Wives of Windsor”
directed by Elizabeth Huffman, and Clifford Odets’ “Paradise Lost” in which she played the role of “Libby”, directed by Hedy Sontag at The The Lee Strasberg Theater and Film Institute.

Rachel assumed the role of April in John Patrick Shanleys’ “Savage in Limbo” directed by Tom Badal at
The Marilyn Monroe Theater at Strasberg.
Having directed several plays at The Strasberg Institute, Rachel is currently studying directing with Actor and Director Geoffrey Horne.
Rachel works as a model for animation studios and video game companies throughout Southern California including Disney Animation, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Imageworks, Nickelodeon “The Simpsons” “Family Guy”, “American Dad”, Blizzard Entertainment, Naughty Dog, Sony Online,
Obsidian Entertainment, and Mattel Toys.
Rachel has hosted events at CBS Studio Center for CDI Kids, and
“New York In Hollywood” to benefit The CSUN Music Therapy Clinic.
Rachel is a proud union member of SAG-AFTRA, Actor’s Equity Association and The Academy of Television.
She is a member of The Los Angeles Military Personnel and Families Support Committee at SAG-AFTRA.
